This was great moment of teaching Japanese Caligraphy to Hawaiian residence who never tried Caligraphy before in their life.
I surprised even some residents has Japanese name, because of they are 3rd or 4th generation, don't know how to speak Japanese and so on...
But of course that happens because they
are born and raised in Hawaii.
Anyway, looked like all people could anjoy this new try! Thanks for all the staff and residence in Arcadia!

ハワイ滞在中に、ボランティアでアーカディアという老人施設に書道レッスンにいってきました。
日本人のおじいちゃんおばあちゃんも、ハワイで育っているため、書道経験はなく、日本語が通じません。
当日通訳さんがいると聞いていましたが、なんと！いらっしゃいませんでしたので、できる限りの私の英語で説明＆レクチャーしました。。ちゃんと気持ちだけでも通じたことを願います。
挑戦には初めはためらう方もいたけれど、参加者ほぼ全員が筆に触れることができました！
素晴らしいです！
